The Biden administration has proven time and time again that it has a unique approach to unity, and perhaps some of that uniqueness is best demonstrated through the House Press Secretary, Jen Psaki, who apparently is allergic to the words “yes” and “no” when it comes to answering very simple, straightforward questions.
On top of that, Psaki’s responses can be fairly disingenuous, which further highlights just how biased the Biden admin really is in terms of showing blatant favoritism between states.
After all, one of Biden’s first major actions “for Americans” while in power was cancelling the Keystone XL pipeline, which just happens to provide several extra jobs in Trump supporting states. On top of that, Biden has also threatened interstate travel in a rather pointed barb at other states not as clearly affected by the Keystone XL pipeline, such as Florida.
If the obvious “punishment” of these states is not bad enough, Psaki has also revealed that Biden apparently cannot find any fault with blue states, even when the governors of those blue states are under investigation for covering up the deaths of thousands of individuals.
Such as Andrew Cuomo, the Governor of New York, who apparently still retains the “gold standard” for handling the pandemic, given that Psaki refused to say otherwise.
In an appearance on ABC with Chief Washington Correspondent Jonathan Karl, Psaki refused to answer Karl’s inquiry about Biden’s support of Cuomo, specifically whether or not Cuomo still exemplified the “gold standard.”
To which Psaki predictably provided a nonsense answer.
“We work with Gov. Cuomo just like we work with governors across the country … He’s also the chair of the NGA [National Governors Association] so he plays an important role in ensuring that we’re coordinating closely and getting assistance out to people of his state and to states across the country and we’ll continue to do that.” [Source: Fox News]
What? Talk about the most generalized response ever. Glad to know Biden is going to continue working “with governors across the country,” and also glad to hear that Cuomo still retains an absurd seat in the NGA, in spite of all his rather clear issues.
Psaki also continued her word salad with more generalities, repeating once more that Biden will work with “a range of governors.”
“We are going to continue to work with a range of governors, including of course Gov. Cuomo because we think the people of New York, the people of states across the country need assistance, not just to get through the pandemic, but to get through this difficult economic time and that’s where our focus remains.” [Source: Fox News]
Hm. A “range” of governors (rather than all governors), which “of course” includes Cuomo. Psaki does not comment anywhere about whether or not Biden still believes that Cuomo’s approach is ideal, which is even clearer in Karl’s response to her.
“But Jen, my question was does President Biden still believe that Andrew Cuomo … represents the gold standard on leadership during this pandemic?” [Source: Fox News]
Psaki then finally answers the question … by not answering.
“It doesn’t always have to be a yes or no answer … I think the president is focused on his goal, his objective as president of the United States.”
[Source: Fox News]
Eh, Psaki? All well and good, except a “yes” or “no” answer never seems to originate from the Biden administration.
In addition, is rather obvious what the “objective” is: Punish red states, Protect blue states. That simple.
Which Psaki cloaks in more excuses, all while claiming Biden will work “with governors across the country.”
“He’s going to continue to work with Gov. Cuomo just like he’ll continue to work with governors across the country … And I’m not here to give new labels or names from the president, I’m here to communicate with you about what our focuses are and what his objectives are as president.” [Source: Fox News]
Right. Psaki isn’t there to “give new labels or names,” which makes zero sense, as Karl was not asking her about “new labels” and “names.” Frankly, Psaki does not appear to be communicating anything, aside from her constant references to the rather vague “objectives” that constitute the Biden administration.
And if Psaki is so concerned about the people of New York, where exactly is the concern for people within Texas, and, for that matter Biden’s? According to Ms. Psaki, Biden apparently “watching the news” and being “mindful” will magically cure Texans’ serious current issues.
“He was closely watching the news, talking to his team, and he is eager to go down to Texas and show his support … But he’s also very mindful of the fact he doesn’t want to take away resources or attention.” [Source: OANN]
What is the White House now, a gargantuan yoga studio? And as far as Biden “taking away resources or attention?” Shouldn’t attention be BROUGHT to the people of Texas?
One thing is clear: Psaki’s continued non-answers coupled with Biden’s blatant bias against various states does not exactly bode well for “unity.”
